For Bixby Alexander Tam (nicknamed Bat), life tends to be full of surprises—some of them good, some not so good. Today, though, is a good-surprise day. Bat’s mom, a veterinarian, has brought home a baby skunk, which she needs to take care of until she can hand him over to a wild-animal shelter.
But the minute Bat meets the kit, he knows they belong together. And he’s got one month to show his mom that a baby skunk might just make a pretty terrific pet.
I read this with my 12 year old son and he thoroughly enjoyed the story as he saw some traits of himself in Bixby. My son also loves animals and he is very curious if their gonna be more story from this author about the adventures of Bat and Thor. He thought that it was very unique that the author included a real live expert on skunks in her story and not some fictional person. He like that their was also cute drawings included in the book and that the chapters he felt were just the right length for this kind of story. We appreciate being able to review and share this book with the world.
